Sweeter-day festival began in 1922 by an ordinary citizen, Herbert Birch Kingston, who wanted to do something nice for people less fortunate of the city. Books that are collected and chocolate, with the help of film stars Theda Bara and Ann Pennington, candy boxes and delivered to newsagents Cleveland area, orphanages and hospitals.
