The Beautiful Fractals of the Late Benoit Mandelbrot
Mandelbrot did not “discover” the Mandelbrot set, but was named in his honor thanks to his extensive experience in working with them. Also coined the term “fractal”, after spending some time thinking about what should be a relatively simple matter: How long is the coast of Britain.
